The biology club had a small meeting to see who would be joining. There weren't many people who showed up. The only people that were there were the kids in my higher level biology class. This is kind of what we were expecting for people to show up but once we actually get started it would be nice to see more people.
The meeting that we had was short because all of the seniors seemed to have larger assignments due so no one could really stay for the meeting. However, we did discuss that we will be meeting on Mondays after school. We also discussed how part of the group would be finding a current event that is involved in this field and talking about/discussing it. We also want to be able to watch movie clips and discuss that as well. On top of a lot of discussion we will also be journaling what we are learning. The group would also like to be able to conduct out own experiments when/if possible.
The next meeting will be once everyone is able to get all of their work in and have time to stay after and actually get started on what we are going to be doing. I can tell that I'm going to learn a lot and have fun working with the other students. Dr. Gilligan will be able to teach me more than she already does and I will also be able to learn from the kids around me.
