In total we didn't raise as much money as we wished we would have raised. However the manager was kind enough to give us $250 to put towards the price of the senior gift to Sturgis. One main thing that I could have changed was the way that I publicized this event. I found it more difficult than I thought it was going to be and eventually found out that making fliers, sending emails to friends and family, sending emails to all of the seniors to help out, and posting the information around the school was not enough. The idea of this fundraiser was a good idea and it was also a fun way to get a lot of the students at Sturgis to spend some time together and at the same time support the fundraiser. I also realized that this is something that I probably wouldn't want to keep on planning and initiating things for. In all however, we did manage to raise some money with the 3 days that we had to do the fundraiser and the support that we got.

T.G.I Friday Fundraiser
April 2, 2010
Yesterday was the first night for the fundraising. It was also the night that all of the seniors could have gone to sit together in a reserved section. However, there wasn't that large of a turn out. There were roughly around 10 seniors and 6 other people from or involved with Sturgis, and later a few families. I was hoping that there would be a larger turn out but thats okay. Next time I know that there will be more people going, such as families.
While at T.G.I Fridays I also went to the manager and introduced myself to her. I mentioned how I was part of the planning of this fundraiser. She told me to keep on handing out the flier and to keep informing people about the upcoming dates.
Hopefully the next upcoming nights will get a lot of business and people will use the coupons because it will be going towards the senior gift. From what I planned and initiated with the fliers, there was an pretty good turn out for seniors and we all had a really good time!

In order to raise money for the Senior class gift I've been working with Mrs. Hyer on the T.G.I Fridays fundraiser. This fundraiser will help the 2010 senior class raise money for the senior gift because as long as people go to eat at TGI Fridays on the 1st, 15th and 29th, and use the flier that I've created, 20% of all food sales will come back to use. This will benefit us in raising money and also will benefit the business for TGI Fridays because more people are hearing about them and hopefully will be going in support of this. This is a new challenge for me because I've never really planned out an activity like this. So far it has been a success getting the idea approved and on what days, creating the flier, and getting the words out about the days and what it is for.
Tomorrow will be the first day that people will be able to bring the fliers with them to their dinner and hopefully will help the senior class raise money. If this is successful the senior class hopes to buy something nice for the school such as a new camera that would be used for many things, for example taking the pictures at prom. For this reason, hopefully the turn out is huge!
