Today was our first official game of the season, against Nantucket. At first I thought that we weren't going to be ready as a team to play a team like Nantucket because we hadn't played a real game in a while and there is so many new girls this year. However we did exceptionally well, even though we did end up losing the game 3 to 0. I think that playing Nantucket first showed the team just how hard they have to try because they are one of the hardest teams that we play. If we did pretty well against Nantucket, we can definitely do well against the other teams that we play. Once everyone's minds get back into the game and having the soccer schedule, I think that we'll have another successful year this year and hopefully will be able to go to states again.
The team needs to work as a whole and communicate more with each other.
Other than communicating with each other everyone also needs to work on controlling the ball when it comes out of the air and also first calling the ball so that 3 people on the same team don't go and run for it at the same time, creating a huge mess.The picture to the right is Kate and I before the game started.
